Greetings dear Wizard enjoyers! Today we bring you a recap of the first week of Ithil’s Public Testnet, and a quick peek at what’s up next.

RPC Overload
The team had high hopes for the amount of testers, based on some promising metrics for the Private Testnet phase. Even so, our expectations were completely blown out of the water by actual interest.
On Monday, demand was so high that it actually overloaded our RPC infrastructure. This briefly brought down the Testnet — we were able to apply and quick fix and get things up and running again.
While we don’t have exact data for the demand surge, the amount of unique feedback items that we received surpassed 3000 on Google Forms alone. Our Testnet Discord channel saw comparable numbers.
Once again, the team would like to thank everyone for overwhelming interest. You inspire us to keep working just as hard as we have since day 1.
Bugfix for WETH/WBTC shorts
The team are firm believers in an iterative process, including testing each step of the way — this is why we chose a lengthy, multi-phase approach towards Ithil’s mainnet deployment.
That choice was proven correct, as the prolific testing of the past week brought to light a substantial bug. An issue margin with checks prevented Users from opening short positions on the WETH/WBTC pair.
We’ve already deployed the fix, and confirmed that it is now fully working as intended.
Twitter following growth
Most of Ithil’s life has been spent in near-complete anonymity, building in stealth since October of 2021. It took countless months to get from o to 100, and then from 100 to 1000 followers on Twitter. Last week, all that changed.

We absolutely charged from little over 1500 followers to nearly 7000 in just one week!

What’s happening in Public Testnet week 2?
Following on from the fantastic results of week 1, we currently live in the second week. Right now, there are a number of exciting competitions for you to participate in and win!
